to add to your article, you can also create rss .xml and upload it on your root directory /www

and then create as man .xml that pertains to your pages for example I have articles.htm i created articles.xml i put in the header and short description and url to the actual article

now after creating .xml that fits my website like freebies.xml, health.xml, hosting.xml, i create an account on google.com and submitted each on http://www.google.com/ig/ click on Add Content and then it will have a sliding menu then click on create a section then type your url containing the .xml you've created
http://www.nabaza.com/sites.xml there that's it it's finished. wait a day or two you got your site listed.

also on yahoo doing it will list your site on google and yahoo
go to http://my.yahoo.com/ and click on add content located under the whole content of my.yahoo.com and be sure to add .xml whenever someone searches for your keyword contained in your xml they will find you and it will be like a viral that they will add you .xml content to their my.yahoo.com I hope this helps.

your products.  I told you this when I helped with your site.

There are logic surfers ( they click on links mostly) and emotion
surfers ( who click on pictures mostly).  Your page needs to
link to your products.

Honestly...you need to use some efforts from your part to reach the top-positions but search engines are the best solutions to get fresh visitors...

Take a good coffee (hot or cold) and start reading below!
(it's very important to know-how you can save 80% of your money)

You don't need to spend millions in expensive advertising-services to get fresh visitors, you need to do 6 simple steps:

1) Reflect and choose the best keywords related to your business website
To give you a real example, I have selected the phrase "home based internet businesses".

2) Go to http://www.nichebot.com and write your favorite terms in its search bar.
In my case for "home based internet businesses" I have received these values -

COUNT - 663 (Number of times search phrase was used in the past 60-days)
COMPETITION - 15,500 (pages listed in Google with the exact keyword phrase)
RATIO - 23.38 (Number of sites for every 1 search; the closer to zero, the less competition)

3) Go to http://www.searchguild.com/difficulty to start controlling how difficult it is to rank on the first page for your query.(you need Google API code, it's free to get it)

I was lucky! My "home based internet businesses" term was rated as EASY.
If the response is "intermediate" or "hard", then I suggest you to change your keywords.

Nichebot has confirmed me that there are 663 visitors per day searching for "home based internet businesses", 15,500 competitors and a ratio of 23.38. Searchguild has rated my phrase as EASY. Perfect, ahh?

4) You can jump to http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion.
You need to verify the quantity of searches (of the same term) on Overture.

Well, it's a nice result: internet home based business - 361.9/searches per day.
 
5) Optimize your website for your new brand phrase/terms.
I know, I know. It's the "Art of Optimization", and you don't know how to do. Follow these simple suggestions:

Choose not more than 2 keywords (or 1 full phrase) per page.
Put your keywords in the "title metatags".
Put your keywords in the "description metatags".
Put your keywords in the "keywords metatags".
Put your keywords in headlines (use H2 tag and H3 tag).
Put your keywords in your "content".
Put your keywords in "internal links".
Put your keywords in "external links".
Save your page by using the keywords as the name of your document (in my case I've registered "home-based-internet-businesses.html").

6) Use a blog to promote your new brand site (create a brand one on http://www.blogger.com). That's all my friend.

Good stuff Massimo.  I was fortunate enough to learn some the things you mention through a company that Paul works for.  You have taken  it to another level though and I will put some of your ideas to immediate use.

As someone who worked I.T. for many years (25) as a Software engineer and a DBA it has been somewhat of an adjustment working the marketing end and running an e-commerce website, Gallery of Antiquities.  I have discovered that being technically astute can be both a benefit and a hindrance.  My mind likes orderly things and measurable results. Many of the results I have seen make no sense. Try to figure out what makes Goole tick to get to the top of their search engine.  One day you are # 15 the next you #1015.  

I have only been at it a few months though and I'm learning something new everyday.

For optimization, how important are things like ALT text for images? Do I stuff keywords into the text (ie. Soy Candle Making Header vs Header)?

Also, in my keywords META, should I include plurals? (ie. Soy Candle, Soy Candles)?

What about subpages from my home page. Should they also be optimized to that main keyword you talk about? Or maybe to another keyword? or ??

Additionally, I've been reading about sitemaps lately - any importance there?

When linking to site sub pages, should I include the key words in the text part of the link or just the url or both?

Phew! Sorry for so many questions all at once. New to all of this :)

Uuummm...plural terms work, but I'm not an huge fan of them. Just optimize your webpage for the right term. Be sure to choose the best keywords available.

Subpages must be created by choosing different keywords, but your keywords-choice must be related to your site content. Every new keyword needs to be related to your site content. (use http://www.nichebot.com)

They are very important...Create maps for Google & Yahoo too!
Many people are reaching amazing "indexing" results by using maps...ME TOO!


And... links are precious. You need to include keywords in the text part of the link and into its url. OK?

Here are some quick basic SEO tips to use once you have found your choice keywords.

TIP !

USE YOUR KEYWORD IN THE TITLE.   if you don't know html , open your page in notepad and look for the tags like this <TITLE></TITLE> near the top of the document.  For instance if your Keyword was Free Website Traffic you would alter your title tags to appear as.

 

<TITLE>Free Website Traffic</TITLE>

How about this for internetmarketing..

 

I recently discovered by accident how to increase my traffic to  one of my sites from 10 to 300 unique visitors overnight.   I posted to craigslist.org to 5 major us cities about my exclusive real estate property in Texas that was for sale.

So If you haven't tried craigslist.org its a very good source for targeted traffic.

Of course  thebesttrafficofyourlife.com  is the best though :o)
